The Power of Asking
Since I already covered the (increasingly less) taboo topic of drinking menstrual blood by the light of the dark moon, I’d love to keep the momentum going.
In the name of symmetry, here is another (also hopefully ever-increasingly less) taboo topic.
For this one, let’s go on a journey of the imagination.
Wouldn’t it be wild if we all woke up tomorrow to find ….
That women all over the world, of all ages and backgrounds, had started skillfully and unflinchingly asking for exactly what we desired, in all dimensions of life?
Not on behalf of living up to any wounded need to feel superior …. simply on behalf of the raw, pure, emotional desire coursing through femme bodies everywhere?
What long-overdue changes could be rapidly wrought at levels of social and political infrastructure, if we could truly feel the embodied power of our courageous & skillful ask?
What would our environment look like, advocated for and stewarded by those of us who are most deeply intimate with the creation of life?
With each woman that learns to use her voice, that beautiful imaginal tomorrow draws ever closer, as we weave it into the realm of the tangible through use of our voices and words.
Take one look at the current state of nature, and you will see the reflection of our collective silence on behalf of the Goddess.
We’re beginning to see the drops of our collective pain & desire for change welling up in tangible ways that are increasingly impossible to ignore.
Consider that next time you feel afraid to raise your voice, no matter what gender you are.
Not as a way to self-flagellate yourself in guilt for all the times you didn’t speak up or lacked courage! Uh-uh, honey!
As a way to feel the importance, simply for being a vessel that creates through the power of the softest desire, fully and creatively expressed.
As women, asking is our complex many-layered art & birthright. We are the weavers of worlds. We were never kicked out of paradise …. the intelligent and skillful use of our voices gives birth to it.
And we are most like the one who gave us birth. Advocating for our desires IS advocating for the wellness of our Earth.
To live separated from our power to desire and ask means to live separated from the feminine essence that created us.
Reuniting with the deep significance & power of our expressed desire, we bring our world back into balance.
